Cincle Plongeur / White-throated Dipper
Je suis un couple de Cincles plongeurs sur la rivière Chalaux depuis deux ans maintenant. L'année dernière, le couple n'a pas réussi et malgré deux couvées totalisant 7 poussins, aucun ne semble avoir survécu. Cette année, ils ont déplacé leur nid en aval d'environ 150 m. L'année dernière, je voulais prendre une photo particulière d'un adulte volant jusqu'au nid avec les poussins qui l'attendaient (elle est dans l'album des oiseaux). Malheureusement, le nid de cette année n'est pas aussi photogénique car il est derrière une petite cascade, mais offre d'autres possibilités intéressantes.
La première couvée de poussins semble avoir éclos début avril. J'essaierai de mettre à jour cette page avec l'évolution de la famille et, avec un peu de chance, une deuxième couvée.
I have been following a pair of Dippers on the River Chalaux for a couple of years now. Last year the couple were not successful and despite two clutches with a total of 7 chicks, none appeared to have survived. This year they have moved their nest downstream from last year. Last year I had a particular photo that I wanted to take of an adult flying up to the nest with the chicks waiting (it's in the Birds Album), unfortunately this year's nest is not as photogenic but offers other interesting possibilities.
The first clutch of chicks appear to have hatched in early April. I will try and update this page with the progress of the family and perhaps with a bit of luck a second clutch.
